"A singularly eccentric treat...Scapegoat Carnivale have become one of Montreal's most original and enjoyably eccentric companies."
- Jim Burke, The Gazette & Theatrefunhouse

"...deliciously enigmatic and does something theatre doesn't do often enough: surprise us." - Caitlin Murphy, independent theatre reviewer.

"I was deeply moved by YEV, particularly the bravery and the innocence of the character so beautifully portrayed by Alison Darcy. The words spoken (co-written by Darcy & Shragge)were full of ironic humour, sincerity and implied violence that the emotions elicited in the audience kept them on a seesaw." - Heather Solomon, theatre reviewer for the Canadian Jewish News

Yev is a hermit living in a remote region of the Northern Taiga, the sole survivor of a family who fled civilization for fear of religious persecution. Mathew, a biology student, curious about her solitary life, begins to transmit letters to her. As their relationship deepens, Mathew discovers that Yev is not entirely alone. Complications between Yev and her possessive neighbour, a retired geologist, reveal another version of her life story. Through complex storytelling and multiple perspectives, the play slowly unearths the truth of these secluded relationships. TRIGGER WARNING: Domestic violence sexuality.
